Nvidia is accelerating its push into the autonomous vehicle sector with plans to power robotaxi fleets by 2027. CEO Jensen Huang unveiled the next-generation Vera Rubin chip platform, boasting fivefold AI performance gains over predecessors. The Drive AGX Thor system, priced at $3,500 per unit, has already secured Mercedes-Benz as a client for 2026 models. Recent San Francisco demonstrations showcased Level 2 Plus Plus technology handling 90% of driving tasks, though human oversight remains necessary for complex scenarios.
